One of the most iconic Finnish small arms is the Suomi submachine gun, named for Finland itself. Designed by Aimo Lahti - Finland’s most noted firearms inventor - it was used to great effect in the Winter War and Continuation War. This poster illustrates the different variations of Finnish Suomi including specialized tank and bunker models, export and late-war prototypes using James Rupley's unmatched photography.

The Mosin-Nagant was the basis of Finnish small arms for the first several decades of the nation’s existence. Starting with inherited Russian M91 models, the Finnish Defense Forces and the Civil Guards both developed improved models during the 1920s and 1930s before unifying them into the excellent M39. This poster illustrates the progression of models including selected specialty types made for cavalry and snipers using James Rupley's unmatched photography.

In the late 1950s Finland adopted its own domestic version of the Kalashnikov assault rifle as its standard infantry armament. A series of versions were made over the next half century from the first simple models to stamped receivers, folding stocks, and the all-new RK95 and modernized RK62 patterns. This facsimile of the illustration accompanying Collier's 1818 patent presents flintlock revolvers in both pistol and rifle configurations. The hand-drawn original shows meticulously detailed components and cutaway diagrams, which are reproduced here from a very high-resolution scan. The sepia tone and period hand-coloured illustrations offer an elegant wall-hanging suitable for any collector or enthusiast, and a useful companion to the book itself. Unlike our author posters, this drawing is presented as a folded, eight-panel (three-fold) sheet in an envelope. Specifications: Approximately 24 inches wide.
